I'm Always Losing My Words

I have just stumbled across this thing called a 'Hub', and am floundering my way around it, trying to work out what it is, what it is for, and whether it will benefit me in my attempts to become a world famous author.

I'm none the wiser, yet.

I have decided to use it to document my progress, as I near the completion of the first draft of my first novel.  I'm going to talk about how easy I find it to put off writing, even though writing is my absolutely most favourite and relaxing and invigorating thing to do.  I'm going to talk about my little successes (successes as in bits of writing that make me proud, even though no-one has seen them), and my huge failures (which are usually to do with word droughts and procrastination).  I'm going to talk about what it's like being a complete novice at writing, and trying to find out how it's done with only the internet to help.  I'm going to write this because it might help someone who is in the same position as me, it might help someone to feel less isolated, it might even make someone smile sometimes!

I might also write about my lack of knowledge concerning grammar.  I might write about how I'm a fraud when it comes to the jargon of writing, and about how I can no more pick out a preposition than I can name the elements in the periodic table.

I have a blog already, where I write about day to day stuff, about children, and holidays, and ordinary stuff.  I don't write too much about writing there, because that's mostly really about my daydreams and stray thoughts that we all have that need a place to settle.  Writing about writing doesn't seem to have much of a place in that blog, and I think the readers of the blog would soon get bored of reading about me sitting in a comfy chair scribbling words on a lined notepad, drinking tea and eating biscuits and staring out of the window.  Writers might find it more interesting...
